Time is money
Propertyfinder.com is a property website. Its lifeblood depends on signing estate agents as members who will then subscribe on a monthly basis and upload their properties to the site.
Propertyfinder identified a number of extremely important 'movers and shakers' in the industry each of whom was responsible for a large number of estate agency offices. They knew that if they could have just half an hour of their time, they could generate huge amounts of ongoing revenue.
They delivered to each of them a box marked 'Time is Money' containing a pristine £10 note. The message was simple: 'Here's some of our money. Can we have some of your time?'. The copy was low key, tongue-in-cheek and invited respondents to give the money to charity. The result? 80% conversion and £78,000 worth of annual business. The cost? Less than £2000.
